In 1993, the World Bank supported a stipend program to help families meet the costs of secondary education. Today, there are more than 3.9 million Bengali girls in secondary school. The Bank complements its lending services with substantial non-financial assistance, largely in the form of analytical and capacity building activities but also including efforts to mobilize funding.
